Wayapa Wuurk
Earth Connection
A Powerful Practice for Mind-Body-Spirit Health and Wellbeing!
“I believe that we are all Earth people, some are just more disconnected than others. As a descendant of the First Peoples, it is my responsibility to share my connection to this Earth and teach others how to respect and care for her, to heal her and let her heal us. So that is why Wayapa was created.”
~ Jamie Marloo Thomas
Why Wayapa Wuurk?
I am so inspired by the Wayapa Wuurk philosophy and teachings that I felt the need to train and share the magic.
While Wayapa Wuurk is not an Aboriginal ‘cultural’ exchange, it is based and founded on Aboriginal ideas of connection, responsibility and stewardship.
We are connected to the Earth, the Stars, the Trees, the Birds, the Waters… all that is seen and unseen on the earth and in the heavens… and it is through practising Wayapa Wuurk, that we can connect, honour and grow with, and into, the all that is around us.
The 13 elements of Wayapa Wuurk, and their associated movements, are a powerful way to enhance your mind-body-spirit health and wellbeing.
I love that the first of the 13 elements is ‘The Creator’… which allows each person to include their version of ‘the creator’ – the big bang, Yahweh, Allah etc…
The Wayapa Wuurk practice brings focus so that we can looking after the land, seas and skies in anyway that we can, from wherever we are… we can make little (or big) steps toward an earth that is looked after and supported for all the generations after us…
Because this practice is ALL about connection, mindful awareness and honouring what has been been and what will be, Wayapa Wuurk is a perfect fit as part of the In2Balance Kinesiology offerings.
